At ECO, we grow over 70 varieties of fruits and vegetables. We grow food in ways that sustain the environment, our farmers, and our communities. We choose climate-resilient and heirloom varieties, and incorporate a wide range of sustainable growing practices. Your CSA membership supports our ongoing commitment to treating our communities and our land with love and respect. 

A CSA is kind of like a season-long subscription to fresh food. As a CSA member, you sign up and pay for your shares ahead of time (right now!). Once the regular growing season starts, you’ll come to the farm on pick-up days (once per week during spring through fall; twice per month in the winter) to receive a bag with fresh, healthy, organically grown fruits and vegetables inside. 

You’ll receive an email newsletter each week with a list of that week’s produce, recipe ideas, and updates about what’s going on at ECO City Farms.

We strive to provide you with quality, abundance, and variety in each share. A share is generally enough food for one to two people. We do our best to plan to give you a different mix of produce each week! A sample of what your share might look like in each season is below.

Spring share: curly kale, bibb lettuce, scallions, sprouting broccoli, and parsley

Summer share: tomatoes, cantaloupe, garlic scapes, potatoes, and cucumbers

Fall share: bell peppers, eggplant, okra, collard greens, and carrots

Winter share: collard greens, swiss chard, arugula mix, cilantro, and sweet potatoes

We also periodically offer CSA members the chance to purchase additional special products from other local farmers, including honey, soaps, teas, and more.

Pay what you can with our sliding scale!

This year we’re implementing a sliding scale payment system in an effort to provide food access for more members of our community here in PG County.

A sliding scale means that there are several payment options for you to choose from, based on your understanding of your own financial need, and other forms of social privilege you may experience in the world. 

As explained by Soul Fire Farm’s solidarity share model: “We ask that people with more wealth and income pay more for their CSA share subscription to subsidize shares for those with less wealth and income. We empower people to decide for themselves what contribution level makes sense and offer coaching to support that determination. For example, people are encouraged to pay less if they are supporting children, have high medical expenses or immigration costs, or receive public assistance. People are encouraged to pay more if they own their home, have inheritance, work less by choice, or have high earning power based on their demographic position…The goal is that all members pay approximately the same percentage of their income toward their food, practicing economic solidarity.”
